I’d like to thank Sight & Sound Theatre in Branson, Missouri, for sponsoring our visit to see the wonderful production of Moses.  As always, all opinions are honest and my own. If you are in Branson, Missouri, and you are looking for a great show, then look no further than the Sight & Sound Theatre.  On a recent trip to Branson, my family had the opportunity to see Moses, a creative dramatization of the Biblical story about a baby who was spared death and grew up to lead the people of Israel out of slavery and into the Promised Land.  This Broadway-style show is one of Branson’s best, and it is not to be missed! The exterior and grounds of the theatre are really beautiful.  As you enter the parking area of the theatre, you will see this statue. Here is the exterior of the theatre as you drive up.  The…

One thing my daughter looks forward to all summer is going boating and camping at Campbell Point on Table Rock Lake near Shell Knob, Missouri, with Grandma and Grandpa.  Can you blame her?  For a seven-year-old, sleeping in the camper is an adventure!  And it doesn’t get much better than riding in the boat with the wind in your hair and the sunshine on your skin.  Going to Table Rock Lake is a family tradition! Campbell Point If you enjoy camping or boating, Table Rock Lake is a great place.  The lake is clean and clear, and the campground is nestled in the Ozark woods. My parents enjoy camping at the Army Corps of Engineers Campground at the Campbell Point Marina.  Some of the sites are even lakeside.  Click here to see a map of the campground.  My parents like to camp in the more wooded area at the full hook-up site.…

Gettysburg is just one of those great historic places that we’ve been wanting to experience for a long time.  We wanted, of course, to learn more about the battle, but we also wanted to make some family memories together.  It’s important for my daughter to learn about the events that shaped our nation, even if she is only seven-years-old.  Though the events in Gettysburg were tragic, I wanted her to have a basic understanding of what happened along with doing some family-friendly activities.  We spent four nights in Gettysburg, but I think you could easily do a shorter trip or spend more time here.  We spent most our evenings watching the sun set over the battlefield.  Here are our recommendations after experiencing Gettysburg. Take a Tour of the Battlefield We took a tour with the Association of Licensed Battlefield Guides, and it was fantastic! This was the highlight of our…

Are you ready to take your blog to the next level? I have been having such a great time blogging that I thought I would share one of the best decisions I’ve made to contribute to my success.  I want to tell you about a blogging course that I believe has made all the difference–The 30-Day Blogging Fast Track course offered by Heather and Pete Reese. Why should you enroll in the 30-Day Blogging Fast Track Course? Heather Reese has been blogging for over ten years, and now she has a wonderful course to teach you the ins and outs of making money with your blog.  She and Pete teach you everything they have learned over that time so that you avoid making mistakes, especially early in your blogging career.  They are completely transparent in telling you exactly what works for them; they even give you real examples from their…

Recently, I was talking to a friend about my recent road trip to the East Coast.  As I was telling her some of the details, including the two times we saw a bear in the Smoky Mountains, the conversation turned to her asking about some general recommendations about where to stay and what to do.  She then asked me what I would consider essential for our travels.  I hadn’t really given it much thought before.  Our needs have certainly changed since we began traveling as a family.  We are out of the baby stage since our youngest is now seven.  With my last trip in mind, I decided to select five things that I am always glad I have wherever we go, whether it’s a short day excursion or a multi-week trip.  Here is my list of must-haves! Please note that there are affiliate links for the items below.  I may…

Thank you to Promised Land Zoo in Branson, Missouri, for sponsoring this post.  As usual, all opinions are honest and my own. When you think of Branson, your first thought may be about country music shows or the beautiful Ozark scenery.  While it does have great shows and gorgeous views, Branson also has plenty of fun attractions, especially for families.  One great family attraction is the Promised Land Zoo.  This private zoo is located on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, an offshoot of the famous 76 Strip. Unlike many traditional zoos, The Promised Land Zoo offers many opportunities to interact one-on-one with the animals in a faith-based environment. The mission of the zoo is to teach others about the conservation of these animals through rescue and the breeding of animals facing endangerment or extinction. In July 2017, the zoo is expecting to open their large 64-acre expansion area giving visitors…

Do you have a Star Wars lover in your family?  Are you heading to Disney World soon?  Then you do not want to miss the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  This party is a premium event, and it is a little on the pricey side.  But we felt the benefits of a great experience to see Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, the fireworks show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, were completely worth it.  Here are the reasons that we loved this dessert party. 1.  Your fireworks viewing area is reserved. No need to wait for a couple of hours outside waiting for the show to start.  Your viewing area will be one one the best in the park.  The area is roped off for the guests of the party, and it is monitored so no one who didn’t pay can get in.  There is a section…
