Savannah

Savannah, Georgia, is one of my favorite cities! Ever since I read the novel, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, I knew I wanted to experience this place first-hand.  We only spent two days and one night here, but we had a great time and hope to go back.  If you’re traveling with your family, don’t worry!  We found plenty to keep our school-aged daughter entertained.  Click my links below for blog posts on our adventures.

We started with a visit to the Pirates’ House.  This was a great place for family dining.  We then explored this beautiful city.  We drove out to Bonaventure Cemetery, and then to Forsyth Park in the center of town.

The Squares are gorgeous!  And Spanish Moss is hanging from the trees everywhere!

We explored River Street and the shops along the river.

When dusk came, it was time for our ghost tour with Ghosts and Gravestones.

Then we settled in for the night at Thunderbird Inn. We stayed at the Thunderbird Inn in Savannah.  This is a cute little retro motel that is away from River Street.

We wanted to save a little money since all we needed was a place to sleep for one night.  We had Moon Pies and RC Cola waiting in our room when we checked in, and we got Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast.  I even got a discount because we stayed the during the week of my birthday.  Check the website for details.

You really can’t go wrong with a trip to Savannah.  We have a fabulous time!
