Staying in a Cabin Among the Redwoods at Crescent City/Redwoods KOA Holiday

When we made a reservation at Crescent City/Redwoods KOA Holiday, I knew a stay at this campground would be memorable. We wanted to spend a night among the majestic redwoods, and a cabin at this KOA seemed perfect. We only spent one night here, but I’ll never forget it. In the summer of 2021, we took a road trip that began in Joplin, Missouri, and headed west. We spent time in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. We zipped up to Glacier National Park and then over to Seattle. After a few days in the city, we took a detour to Mount Ranier National Park before landing in Forks and Astoria, two towns known for their connections to popular movies. Happy Halloween Weekends at Sun Outdoors Lake Rudolph

Staying at Sun Outdoors Lake Rudolph RV Resort is one of our favorite Halloween season experiences. We’d wanted to visit Holiday World for some time, and when a long weekend popped up on my teaching schedule, we set our plan into motion. Where to stay in Santa Claus, Indiana, the town that’s home to Holiday World? Why, the adjoining campground, of course! No RV? No problem! Lake Rudolph has several cabin options. I’ll offer a piece of advice here. Book your cabin as far in advance as possible. We booked our cabin in August, and there weren’t many left. During Happy Halloween Weekends, Holiday World is only open for the weekends. The small town of Santa Claus has limited lodging options. Plus, Lake Rudolph offers lots of Halloween fun during the weekends in October. Throw all of these factors together, and you have the perfect storm of selling out the…

Stay in a Cabin at the KOA Campground in Moab, Utah

KOA Campground in Moab, Utah. This turned out to be a great place to stay. When you plan a trip to Arches National Park, you’ll quickly discover that there is so much to do in the area. As we planned the trip, we realized that Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse Point State Parks were nearby. We also couldn’t wait to explore Moab. As we planned the road trip, it became clear that we needed a couple of nights in the area. In the end, we spent three nights, and I still could’ve stayed longer. Since there was so much to see, we knew we needed a home base in or near Moab. The KOA Campground at Moab was the perfect place for us. Our Little Cabin Getaway at Silver Dollar City Campground

For Christmas this year, my husband and I decided to take a getaway together instead of buying each other gifts. We do this often, actually, and I am so grateful to be married to someone who loves trips as much as I do. Since Branson is only an hour and a half away, it often works well for a destination for us as a couple. My parents stay with the kids, and suddenly it’s just the two of us on a little road trip. This year, we stayed at a cabin at Silver Dollar City campground near Branson, Missouri. Formerly, the campground was known as The Wilderness at Silver Dollar City.
